Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held at 3.10pm on 16th October 2005 in the Wribbenhall Parish Rooms, Bewdley

As agreed and signed at the 2006 AGM

Present: Angela Richey in the chair, Rachel Greenwood, Pat Hibbs, Bob Thomas, Janet Thomas, John Todd

Apologies: Lucy Akehurst, Hazel Davis

Minutes: The minutes of the 2004 AGM were read. Angela did not wish the minute of the Chairperson's Report to imply that she had attended and commented on every event listed. The minute would be amended accordingly and brought back to the 2006 AGM for confirmation.

Matters Arising: None.

Chairperson's Report:

Angela reported on events and activities since the last AGM.

• The Violin Examination Repertoire event with Louis Carus at the Elgar Birthplace on 14th November had been poorly attended by Regional members - a pity since his observations were pertinent and informative.
• The Cello Day with Corinne, Dawn and Stewart on 1st May had been a great success. Highlights for her were the physical exercises in the garden, the groups and Corinne's warm-up drills.
• The house meeting on Teaching Bow Strokes on 19th June had been useful and workmanlike, but apart from the host, Sarah Allen, it had not attracted the local teachers on the east side of the Region.

Treasurer's Report:

• Janet Thomas tabled the accounts, which were adopted unanimously.

Election of Officers:

• Chairperson: Rachel Greenwood was proposed by Angela, seconded by Janet and elected unanimously.
• Secretary: Bob Thomas was proposed by Rachel, seconded by Pat and elected unanimously.
• Treasurer: Janet Thomas was proposed by Rachel, seconded by Pat and elected unanimously.
• Committee members: Hazel Davis and Angela Richey were elected unanimously.
• National Forum Representative: It was agreed unanimously that Rachel and Angela would decide between themselves who would attend on our behalf.

Other Business:

• The National post of ESTA Administrator, to succeed Marion Seymour, would be advertised shortly.
• Janet could supply e-mail details for the 2006 International Conference in Tallinn.
• The 2006 British Summer School would be in Edinburgh in August.

Date of Next AGM: For forward planning, Sunday 15th October 2006 was the most likely date..

The meeting closed at 4.00pm.
